The steel grid plate is an open steel member that uses the bearing flat steel and the cross bar to orthogonally combine according to a certain distance and is fixed by welding or pressure lock; the cross bar is usually made of twisted square steel or round steel. Steel gratings are mainly used for steel structure channel boards, trench covers, step boards for steel ladders, and building ceilings.

It shall be fixed by welding, riveting or pressing lock.

In the occasion of special application, the profile steel or the flange directly can be used for edging. The edging adopts single-sided corner fillet welding with a welding height not less than the thickness of the load flat steel, and the length of the weld must not be less than 4 times the thickness of the load flat steel. Under the circumstance that the edging board does not accept the load, it is agreed to weld one place with 4 load flat steels, but the distance should not be greater than 150mm. Under the condition that the edge board accepts the load, distance welding is not allowed, and full welding is necessary. The end plate of the stair step board must be fully welded on one side. It is necessary to weld to each cross bar the edging plate in the same direction as the load flat steel. The cuts and openings in the steel grid plate equal to or greater than 180mm shall be treated as hemming. If there is a front edge guard on the stair step board, it is necessary to run through all the steps. The load flat steel of the steel grid plate can be flat flat steel, I-shaped flat steel or slitting strip steel. The load flat steel of the steel grating can be provided with a tooth profile to add the anti-skid force of the steel grating. Not less than 5 teeth per 100mm. The minimum width of the steel grating on the tooth-shaped channel shall not be less than 300mm.
