Steel grid plates are interspersed with flat steel according to a certain distance and cross bars (twisted square steel, square steel, round steel, flat steel, etc.), and welded into a steel finished product with a square grid in the center. Steel grid plates are usually made of carbon steel, and the surface is galvanized to prevent oxidation. Can also be made of stainless steel. The steel grating has the functions of ventilation, lighting, heat dissipation, non-slip, explosion-proof and so on.

The edging adopts single-sided fillet welding with a welding height not less than the thickness of the load flat steel, and the length of the weld must not be less than 4 times the thickness of the load flat steel. Under the condition that the edging board does not accept the load, it is allowed to weld one place with 4 load flat steels at a distance, but the distance must not be greater than 180mm. Under the condition that the edge-covered board accepts the load, interval welding is not allowed, and full welding is necessary. The end plate of the stair step board must be fully welded on one side. It is necessary to weld to each cross bar the edging plate in the same direction as the load flat steel. Cuts and openings in steel gratings equal to or greater than 180mm shall be treated as hemming. If there is a front edge guard for the stair step board, it is necessary to run through all the steps.

The load flat steel of the steel grid plate can be flat flat steel, I-shaped flat steel or slitting strip steel.
